DESCRIPTION

Aspire 7 isn't the ultraslim, light laptop with the eye-catching excellent appearance and artificial intelligence you're searching for. The Acer Aspire 7 15.6-inch clamshell is designed for use at a desk and for getting work done at home, but it also has adequate power for gaming and content creation.

I put the Nvidia GTX 1050, a solid entry-level graphics hardware, to the test. The Acer Aspire 5 (15.6-inch) was one of the best affordable laptops we tested last year. The Aspire 7 is essentially a larger and more powerful version of that device.

The full-HD IPS display offers outstanding colour and contrast and appears good from all angles, and the matte coating helps to reduce annoying reflections, which is good given it's not particularly bright. The illuminated keyboard has a soft feel to it, but the keys have enough snap and travel to make you feel like you're typing on a tabletop.

The precision touchpad is also a little squishy, but it's smooth and responsive otherwise.

The speakers sound clear and don't distort at full volume, although that's probably due to the fact that they don't get very loud.

The Aspire 7 has the same performance as Acer's entry-level gaming laptop, the Nitro 5, but without the angular chassis, red accents, and NitroSense software, which gives you immediate access to fan settings, power planning, and system monitoring.

The Aspire 7 is more of a general-purpose laptop, but it does come with a graphics chip that can handle everything from Fortnite to the latest AAA games. Depending on the game, the combination I tried may need to be reduced to medium grade settings, however the GTX 1650 is capable of more.
